ABOUT US The City Kia Story Jay’s Motors was established in 1940. Located in Victoria Street Richmond by John Pascoe Senior’s father, known as Jay Pascoe. He was also one of the original directors and share holder of Calder Raceway. John Pascoe Senior established John Pascoe Motors in 1970, first in Whitehorse Road Blackburn and a second branch in Warrigal Road Chadstone selling select used cars. John Snr went on to develop and own City Saab, City Hyundai, City Chrysler Jeep and City Automobiles specialists in British Sports cars - Aston Martin, Lotus and TVR Caterham. John Snr sold the business in 1997 to the Sumitomo Corporation but retained City Automobiles for his sons John Junior and Benjamin. In 2000 John Pascoe joined forces with Mitchell Porritt who has established an excellent reputation in the motor industry for repairs and servicing of Mercedes Benz in Burnley Street Richmond. Mitchell Porritt is a fully trained Mercedes technician with many years of experience working on this wonderful product. He has also worked with Mercedes Benz in Germany. In 2001 City Automobiles was officially appointed the Renault Franchise for Melbourne, opening the new car showroom at 539 Church Street Richmond on 14 July 2001 timed to coincide with Bastille Day. City Automobiles Renault quickly became the No.1 selling Renault Dealer in Australia. In 2007 City Automobiles opened a state of the art Renault service and spare parts facility at the rear of the Renault showroom at 1 Kingston Street, Richmond. In 2010 John Pascoe and his sons proudly opened the new City Kia Franchise at 198 Burnley Street, Richmond. The Pascoes, three generations of car men - over 70 years in business.
